What's the deal with CJ McCollum???

Is anyone else scratching their head, about CJ's situation right now? I haven't heard any news on him being banged up or injured. I know Barton has put in some hard work to earn some minutes at the '2', but something isn't adding up here. CJ was touted to be an NBA-ready player with his skill set and 4 years of college ball. We all know he's very intelligent, and seems to possess the right demeanor to be a pretty good player.

After watching a couple games where he had back to back scoring outbursts (like 19 and 17?), it seemed like he was on the path to where many thought in the preseason he had ROY capability. Since then, he barely gets in the game. If there is news on him being hurt or news as to why he's not getting run, please share. If it's solely because Will Barton is beating him out in practice to earn minutes, that's scary to me.

I didn't expect him to blow the doors off after his foot injury, but I also expected once healthy and in game shape, that he would be a regular contributor off the bench. A solid 12-15 minute guy as a rookie. The whole things seems strange, and I haven't heard anyone make mention of him.

Gearing towards the playoffs, Stotts is shrinking the rotation. But with a thin bench, there's not much to shrink. CJ's game seems like it was made for the playoffs. Clutch shooting, calm demeanor, and keeping other team's 2nd units on its heels. But the fact he's not much of a factor, must be telling that there is still a bit of a bugaboo with his foot and the team is being cautious, or he is just not showing enough to get on the floor. Either way, it's a bit perplexing and concerning.

Thoughts?
