I was re-watching some of the Blazers - Rockets games from this season. What immediately struck me was how frequently the Blazer bench gave up a sizable lead. So I looked up the line-up info and here's what I found:
In 72 minutes, the Blazer starters have a +22.5 Net Rtg against the Rockets. This is third behind the OKC starters and one random MN line-up when Brewer had 51 pts (minimum 20 minutes played against the Rockets)
In 35 minutes, the Rockets starters have a -42.5 Net Rtg against the Blazers. This is the worst Net Rtg of any line-up against the Blazers (minimum 20 minutes played against the Blazers)
*Stats from nba.com
I know everyone is looking for reasons for optimism, and this might be the best one I've found. If Stotts runs the starters hard, or if his new rotation using Wright as a 4 and playing T-Rob and Aldridge together really gels, this could be interesting.
Go Blazers!
