Chris Haynes of CSNNW.com reports that Portland Trail Blazers All-Star guard Damian Lillard says he is "close" to re-signing with Adidas.
Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard and adidas are on the cusp of finalizing a multiyear, lucrative shoe endorsement deal, a league source informed CSNNW.com.
"We're close," Lillard told CSNNW.com on Tuesday. "Nothing final yet."
Haynes' full story is right here.
Adidas released Rookie of the Year sneakers for Lillard last year and unveiled "Rose City" shoes for Lillard last month. The company also offered black-and-red All-Star sneakers for Lillard in New Orleans back in February.
Lillard has worn Adidas shoes throughout his NBA career but he does not yet have his own signature line.
Those in the sneaker world have expected Lillard to remain with Adidas, whose major NBA endorser, Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose, has missed most of the last two seasons with knee injuries.
Lillard, 23, has averaged 20.9 points, 5.5 assists and 3.6 rebounds per game this season.
