Let me start by saying. We needed an infusion of new blood. My grand mama could tell you that, i prayed for Hawes, take your de-tractors aside......he can shoot from range and is a skilled big body. Perfect? Hell no, but a good short term solution and certainly an upgrade off the bench. To the cavs he went for nothing.(a couple 2nd rounders and a no name)
Had the Seahawks not won the super bowl, the downfall of the blazers would bother me greatly. I find myself thinking "sucks whats going on in PDX, Lillard on the decline, LMA hurt, Batum hurt for quite some time, rest of the team regressing, lions, tigers, bears, oh my!!" But the thought of my beloved seahawks as world champs severely lessens this feeling of dis-appointment/despair. I can honestly say that if 2014 ends with the seahawks world champs and the Blazers WELL ahead of there re building schedule then....eff yeah! kick frickin ass! heee yaaa!! woot!!!!.
But i cant help but feel that more should have come from this year, this team. They seem special, maybe because its the first good team post B-roy era. Maybe its perception, maybe its that they are that good. No matter the reason it was nice to see them in contention. There in lies the point. Why take an over achieving, double all star, young, talented team and make ZERO moves to help/improve this group of athletes.
I may be proven wrong, there may be a master plan i am not aware of but i am so completely and utterly dis-appointed in Olshey's performance this day. I pray that like some moves made by J.S. that i would look back and eat crow. But right now i question our G.M.s moves. Let me know, set me straight......whatever, gimme your take.
