Is pitching a Matthews for Asik deal between Portland and Houston, which works on the ESPN trade machine. I've read that Houston doesn't want to deal Asik to another team in the Western conference; but let's ignore that for now, along with the complications his odd contract might create. I love the idea of platooning Asik and Lopez at center. It would be nice to have a capable interior defender on the floor for the entire game. I shudder to imagine, however, what relying on Mo Williams and CJ McCollum at shooting guard would do to the perimeter defense. Would Asik's shot blocking and rebounding make up for the liability? The almighty trade machine says Portland wins six fewer games in this scenario, while Houston picks up an extra win. What do you think, Blazer fans?
