What do you guys think about bringing back Steve Blake to backup Lillard? I'm not a huge fan of Blake but he can bring that intensity to the second unit and he can knock down a few three's and find his guys open for easy buckets plus he would be our best defensive PG on the roster. It would also give CJ or 3J more time to become that player he can be.
Getting Chris Kaman also would be huge on the second unit. Having Kaman and CJ being the scorers and Blake and TRob being the scrappers and Wright knocking down shots. That's a real NBA bench that the Blazers haven't seen in a few years. Kaman is also really good at finding guys open and I think that would complement Wright's game a lot. With Kaman if nobody is hitting there outside jumpers you can just dump the ball into him and get a few buckets that way.
As for the Lakers why do they do this well because they will save 2.5 mill in salary off this trade alone plus they are over the tax limit so that doubles in savings. That's 5 million in savings. They want ending contracts but with Mo already saying he's going to opt out of his contract and with Barton not having a guaranteed contract next year they are just eating 1.3 mill in Clavers contract next year. But if Pau stays he will like having his country man there plus Claver fits into D'Antoni's system perfect so he benefits them.
Its a Win Win both sides unless the Lakers can get something better from somebody else.
