I can’t even watch the Blazers on TV as they are blacked out where I live in Oregon. I don’t live in the Portland market and the area I live in doesn’t have Comcast as a provider so all games that are not on KGW, ESPN or TNT are blacked out. I have watched more games living out of state than in Oregon over the past 10 years. I grew up with the Blazers when they marketed the entire state of Oregon, sending ambassadors to all corners of the state. Now it seems they don’t care if the rest of the state can access a Blazers game on there TV. Ever since they were awarded the Seattle TV market it seems like they don’t care about the rest of the state of Oregon as we have been left out to dry when it comes to watching a game on TV. I wonder how this affects families wanting to make that special trip to Portland to see a game when they know they don’t care enough about them in the first place. The Blazers are missing out on a chance to develop lifelong fans throughout the state of Oregon with this silly Comcast deal. The Blazers have abandoned us Oregonians and now it is 2014 and we are forced to listen to a game on AM radio and hear "BOOM-SHAKA-LAKA!" or "Ooh, that was nasty!" by Wheels. Where is Steve Jones when you need him?
Don’t forget us:
I remember going to Blazers alumni games in my high school gym to see Larry Steele and Dave Twardzik play in the 80’s. The Blazers made a big push with the Oregon Pioneer theme in the 90’s having Clyde, Jerome, Terry, Buck and Duckworth ride around the state in covered wagons on the Oregon Trail. The locker room in our gym had Billy Ray "Slam Dunk" Bates hanging on the wall because he came and gave a talk to our school 80 miles away. Now it is 2014 and I’m forced to listen to a game on AM radio and hear "BOOM-SHAKA-LAKA!" or "Ooh, that was nasty!" by Wheels.
