A lot of chatter on BE about what to do to bolster the roster. As I have thought about it more, what we could use is a veteran big who wont disrupt chemistry and optimally can play 4 or 5 and can actually put the ball in the hoop. Channing fits this perfectly, especially since he still lives here, knows a bunch of the guys already and would fit perfectly in Stotts offense.
Here's the trade
Why Portland Does it- Duh
Why Phoenix does it?
1. They dont really have a SF except PJ tucker, this gives them a veteran presence at that position and someone who fits in with their style of play. Victor would be a project and really to make the salaries work
2. With Bledsoe going down, any hope they have for this season is gone and they know it so they tanking will come soon. They are already in 8th in the west and will be out of the playoff seeding in 3-4 weeks based on how they have played lately (2-5 since Bledsoe went out) and the fact that Memphis is starting to get a little hot and Gasol came back tonight
3. They have a lot of young front court players, both Morris brothers, Plumlee and Alex Len so if they want Len to develop, they really need to dump Frye at some point to make room
I know its wishful thinking, but a Bench of Frye, McCollum, Willams and Freeland would at least be able to put the ball in the hoop and wouldnt be any worse defensively than what we have
