The Blazers as Bands

Shoutout to TerranItUp, who did a much more complete version with superheroes a few days ago.

I had trouble with this one, so I've only got a few.

LaMarcus Aldridge: REM. This is an obvious one for me. REM was a great band, but a group I always have to make a conscious effort to appreciate. Murmur is one of my favorite albums, but not one that my mind immediately leaps to when I consider my favorite music. So it goes with Aldridge. He’s perennially unappreciated, and when his career is over he’ll throw a wrench in every "5-Time NBA All-Stars" Sporcle quiz. (Or he'll bolt for the Rockets two years from now, which would make him, like, Metallica or some crap.)

Will Barton: The Wu-Tang Clan. Completely bonkers, wildly inconsistent. One day they’re posting 22 and 13 on the Mavericks, the next it all collapses when RZA raps for more than fifteen seconds. Could very easily combust at any moment.

CJ McCollum: Arcade Fire. Sure you’re articulate, hardworking, and cool, and you've got a few tricks, but it remains to be seen if you can make a song that isn't overbearingly preachy/ shoot over 40% in Summer League.

These were the only ones I could come up with, and there are clear holes. For one thing, Arcade Fire is pretty good, and comparing Will with the best rap group ever is a touch generous.

Please, chime in. is Wes The Roots, professional but unspectactular? Who is D-Lill? Is it lazy to say Robin Lopez is Jimi Hendrix and Meyers is Justin Bieber? (Yes, it is. You can do better.)
