With all the Aldridge trade rumors I have been thinking, hey, maybe it would be smart for the Blazers to gamble a little bit. I think were due to have a little luck here. If Portland trades Aldridge to Cleveland for #1,#19, and Tristan Thompson I believe it just might be what Portland needs. Hear me out...
Portland sends out 13.5 mil in cap space to Cleveland, in return brings in 3.9 from TT and 4.2 from #1 and 1.1 from #19, which equals 9.2 million. In return gives us 4.3 million in extra cap space. With the 11.8 million we have comes out to roughly 16.1 million.
The next move is to offer the what Dave posted, Phoenix gets Portland's 2013 #10 draft pick, Joel Freeland, and cash; Denver gets Marcin Gortat and Wesley Matthews; Portland gets JaVale McGee. In that trade we dump an extra 9.5 which comes to a total of 25.6 million. Mcgee makes 10 million so we take a hit at the cap, which leaves us 15.6 million in cap space. You offer J Smooth 15 million. Use the exception to bring back Maynor (if we can, I'm not a cap guru by any means)
Which fills out to be..
I tried, I'm horrendous at math, but I think I got fairly close. If this is possible, my god, I would LOVE this off-season.
