Could Meyers Leonard play more PF? It seems like he has problems on defense against big strong players. If he played more PF he would face relatively smaller players than at C which might make for advantageous match ups. I think he is quick enough to match the speed of PF opponents in transition as well as in half court sets. On the offensive end he would able to shoot over the top at 10 feet out and be able to back down many opponent PFs. I do think he would continue to have trouble on the boards at PF, but playing alongside another big body may open things up for him to grab a few more rebounds.
I think Meyers Leonard will develop into a decent player and valuable asset. He just needs minutes. If we draft another project C and pick up a relatively inexpensive C via trade or FA, both Leonard and the rookie would receive the minutes needed to develop their game while providing Portland with versatility at low cost. What do you think?
