Likely buy out for paul pierce...

Its looking more and more likely the Celtics will buy out pierce for $5mill instead of paying him $15mill next season. I wrote a fanpost earlier this month speculating on a possible Blazer's lineup involving the acquisition of Paul Pierce for the right price coupled with a few other moves (such as trading away Wes for and Claver for Gortat) to make this team a contender. Then I asked you guys what you thought about adding Paul Pierce to this team and if adding him would be worth the questimated $7mill(ish) that it would take to get him here....

Simplifying your poll results from my previous fanpost down to a simple Yes or No to adding Paul Pierce to the Blazers you were 33% (38 votes) in favor of adding Pierce and 67% (78 votes) against.

with some of the new ideas floating out there like trading Wes and the #10 to the bobcats for the #4 in order to draft Oladipo. I think it would be nice to have a Vet there for a year or two as the starter to help keep this team capable of competing now while Oladipo got settled into the NBA, not to mention trading Wes would give us the extra Cap space to then sign Pierce and make a big offer to a center like Pekovic... Maybe Oladipo proves himself fairly quickly which would allow us to use Pierce as an attractive trade piece... My new favorite lineup (one that combines young talent with a little playoff experience) looks like this:

Lillard, Nate Robinson or Maynor

Pierce, Oladipo, Barton

Batum, Pierce, Claver, 2nd rounder

Aldridge, O'neal, Claver, 2nd rounder

Pekovic, O'neal, Leonard

Anyways ill hit you with a new poll to see if your feelings have changed now that this seems to be a bit more serious. So hit the comment section and tell me if your opinion has changed or if you still think this move would suck because it would eat cap space we could be putting towards a player that could actually be here for longer than a year or two etc. etc. Also let me know what u think about that new lineup idea.
