There seems to be very low risk with Gorgui Dieng, as none of his comps would be considered wash outs. There is a small risk he could turn out to be Cherokee Parks, or Eric Mobley. At the same time the probability is low that he would turn out to be as productive as Derrick Coleman and Kenyon Martin.
His likely best case, and most likely case is a long list of very solid, but generally unspectacular big men. Seikaly, Davis, and PJ Brown were all very solid NBA big men for a long time, who put together some very productive seasons. His most likely comps are generally league average big men with 7-8 year careers.
One final point to make, with all players I have published so far, the target player and his comps were generally the same age, or the target player comped to slightly older players. For instance Steven Adams was 19, but his comps average age for the comp season was 19.8 years. So Steven Adams played like a player a year older. Gorgui Dieng is the opposite. His comps averaged out at 1.25 years young than Dieng.

Overall for his first 3 years Gorgui Deing projects to be essentially a league average player, and there is very little progression in his 3 years. His DRtg is a very solid 98.7 which indicates he would be a good NBA defender, though not as good as Steven Adams projects (93.4). His ORtg of 103.1 projects him to be a below average offensive player. His basic stat line per 36 minutes is 13.2 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks. His 51.9% TS%, and 47.9% eFG% are low, but since his usage rate is low, they don't hurt his win shares as much. One area where Deing looks to improve is in his foul rates, where he improves from a 4.25 PF/36 minutes to less than 4/36 minutes. For a player like Deing I suspect he will experiance foul problems early on, but if he can progress like his comps, then he will get that foul problem in control.
As I noted above in his comps section, the seasons Deing comped to were for players on average 1.25 years younger than him, while Steven Adams comped to players 0.8 years older than him. That can be viewed a couple of ways. Deing is probably a more complete package right now, while Adams is more likely to struggle early on. At the same time, Deing would have a lower probable ceiling, while Adams has a potentially higher ceiling.
