Victor Oladipo weighs 11 lbs more than "average", but his body fat % is below average, so the extra weight is muscle not fat. Oladipo is a long player, an excellent leaper, with average speed and good agility.
As I noted in the Cody Zeller article, there is a strong postive correlation between length and defensive prowess. At the same time there is a clear negative correlation between length and shooting ability. At some point I will do a definitive study on this. With Oladipo, he has good length, but it is not extreme. So this supports that he is a good defender, but his length impedes his shooting some, but not excessively. What makes Oladipo a good defender is combination of good length and good athleticism, expressed as excellent leaping ability and very good agility.

Victor Oladipo has a very interesting set of comps. He has two multiple all-stars in Vince Carter and Brandon Roy. He has some young and improving potential stars in Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Bradley Beal, and number of very solid NBA players in Wesley Matthews, James Posey, Jimmy Butler, and Anthony Peeler. He also has a large number of players seasons from NBA busts, or fringe players. His very high % of worst case players is dominated by one player Charles O'Bannon. Overall of his 40 comp seasons, 15 came from players who didn't stick in the league for even 3 years, but 6 of those seasons came from Charles O'Bannon. Since O'Bannon played prior to 2000, I have limited physical attribute data on him, and I use only those that are common between Oladipo and O'Bannon for determining similarity. Clearly this has influenced the relationship between these two players, weighting O'Bannon too heavily. I don't believe O'Bannon would be that similar if I had more physical data, and as such I would discount his effect somewhat. As I said in my Cody Zeller article, I use all the data I can find, and this is a rare case where limited data may have influenced a result in a significantly negative way.

Victor Oladipo projects to be better than average NBA player for his first 3 NBA seasons. His WS/48 projects to 0.113, which is very solid, and his PER grades out at better than league average at 15.53. His DRtg projects him to be a solid to good NBA defender, and his ORtg of 111 projects him to be a highly efficient offesnive player. His shooting rates indicate a solid NBA shooter, with a nearly 50% 2 point rating, 37.5% on 3's, and 78.2% on FT. This leads to a very nice TS% of 54.8%, which is very good for a guard. His 3 year usage rate approaches 20% which means he will score at a rate of 16.5 Pts/36 min. His rebounding rate for a guard of 5.3/36 is very solid, and his TO rate of 12% is very good.
As I stated above one of the concerns with Oladipo is that he has 15 comp seasons from players who did not make it in the NBA for at least 3 seasons. That is a high risk with Oladipo, but as I stated above, much of that is dominated by one player, Charles O'Bannon, and that I believe can be discounted. Overall I trust the aggregate numbers, and I believe Oladipo should be a high lottery pick, and the only reason he should slip from the top 3/4 is because of the concern that he had a large number of comps who didn't pan out. Even given that he shouldn't drop past #6 worst case.
