So here we go draft order set Olshey looking to make something happen to get this team a little better on the defensive end, get some help rebounding, and last needs some fire power on the wing and off the bench. So here it is the trade that will make Portland younger and better at the same time. A four team trade involving the Blazers, Cavs, Raptors, and Kings.
Cavs get- Lamarcus Aldridge and Jimmer Fredette.
Raptors get- Tristan Thompson and Myers Leonard
Why this trade works, well because Portland knows with a superstar in Lamarcus they know now is the time to get rid of him while he is in his prime to really get something out of him. Portland gets 4 guys that make them young but still contenders for the playoffs right now. Maybe they arn't finals material but they are better. They get a center that can rebound, a power forward that is pretty good, an up and comer in T Ross maybe able to take the starting job from Wes or making him expendable. They get a good back up in Isiah Thomas who looks like the steal of the draft 2 years ago, and they also get the 5th pick to possibly get Oladipo if they want or a top 5 guy. I think this improves this roster big time you get 5 guys for the price of one. Cavs do this trade because they don't lost the number one pick they get a superstar and become a contender in the east. The raptors well they have a back log at the guard position and really wont miss ross will derozan, plus they get Thompson who will become a good power forward in this league. Last Sacramento gets rid of jimmer who was a bust they wont miss isiah because they can always draft mccolum at 10 and resign tyreke. They get Amir Johnson who might be just as good as thompson, and they pick up two guys from over seas that are probably better than any small forward they had last year other than John Salmons. This wont hurt portland free agency as they can pick up a vet that makes them even better. Thoughts?
