Blazers news items are slim pickin's these days, so I'm leaving this here for you to post what your new favorite scenario for our summer looks like. Mine is morphing all the time, and is greatly affected by what I read on BE.
Jermaine O'Neil sounds great; McGee is questionable; I feel, for the first time ever, that we could actually get Howard on this team (I only feel this way a little, but I loved jscot's letter) - this is all stuff that posts on this site got me thinking about, so please post away. Explain, if you want to - I like hearing the reasons behind the posts!
To start us out:
1) Woo Dwight Howard.
- or -
2) Make a bunch of small, realistic moves:
a. Trade Wes for a draft pick (late teens?).
b. Trade said pick and Freeland for a later pick (early twenties?).
c. Trade Claver for a future second-round pick.
d. Draft Giannis with the #10 and Jeff Withey with the late pick.
e. Draft Norvell Pelle, Mike Muscala, and Khalif Wyatt in the second round.
f. Waive Pav.
f. Offer Tyreke Evans a max deal ($13.6 mil/year). No, YOU'RE crazy!
g. Offer Cole Aldrich 3 years, $10 million.
h. Offer Tony Allen 3 years, $12 million.
i. Offer Maynor the room exception.
j. Trade Barton, Leonard to Phoenix for Gortat (using Wesley's trade exception).
k. Sign Jermaine O'Neil for the vet's minimum.
l. Buy out Kostas, and sign him. (pretty sure we can do this above the cap, as he's our draft pick)
The 2013/2014 Trail Blazers look like this:
