I am not a proponent of booing somebody. The Raymond Felton thing was a bit funny but I think booing somebody happens too often. The thought that thousands of people booed Greg Oden was embarrassing. When I talk with people about being a Blazers fan, one of the things I am proud to say is that we are passionate about our team and are very supportive of them. I mean, we do follow them through good times and bad, unlike almost any other sports team out there. Things have become a bit different these past couple seasons as far as how Blazers fans behave. The booing has become more common and I think its uncalled for. Especially when someone went through so much with and for the Blazers. I know Oden made some statements that might be slightly offensive to some people but over all it was pretty minute compared to Felton's comments about Portland. If we wanted to show our displeasure towards a player, I think the best thing to do is to not even acknowledge their presence. Booing someone just shows that they mean so much to the booers that the person was given free rent inside the minds of the booers. We get too wrapped up with our own issues and lose sight of the fact that NBA players are people too. I also remembered when someone threw beer on Marc Cuban. That too was embarrassing. Just needed to rant a bit. Its okay if you like it or not... I wont boo ya.
