Olshey has said he wants to construct a deal that will bring him a starting center at the draft (if the deal is right, of course). The DRAFT is before free agency.... Many of the the guys talked about being brought in would only become available once a decision has been made on these two guys! Guys like Omer Asik (Hou), Spencer Hawes (Phi), and Horford (Atl), seem to be out of the picture then.
The teams that want to chase Lebron (Cleveland, LAC, Chi) are much more likely to make a trade the following year or not trade at all. The Clippers can fall In multiple categories but why would they trade DeAndre now for Lebron in a year? There are other reasons to trade him but this isn't one of them. Cleveland has a ton of cap and doesn't need to make a trade of Varejo to bring him in. Chicago is much more likely to trade luol deng who plays the same position as Lebron then Noah.
This leaves Javale McGee and Marcin Gortat as the most obvious trade targets who are realistically available. I believe both could be had for the #10 pick. Depending on the player traded for also affects the rest of free agency due to their respective cap numbers of 11 and 7 million.
Agree? Disagree? Other realistic options I missed?
