I like this picture. It shows that past and the present, and in the best way, it shows the future.
So far our PG has done some amazing things, hes set some records and tied some records. And hes landed himself smack dab in the middle of some amazing company. Anytime in your PG career that you are compared to Oscar the great Robinson, youve done well for your self. He has a good chance to clean sweep the ROY race, which hasnt happened very often. I mean what else can a rookie do? Heres what I could dig up, if you know of some other things hes done, let me know post them below.
-On October 31, 2012, in his NBA debut against the Lakers, Lillard recorded 23 points and 11 assists, joining Oscar Robertson and Isiah Thomas as the only players in NBA history with at least 20 points and 10 assists in their NBA debuts.
- On November 3, 2012, Lillard joined Oscar Robertson in recording 20 or more points and more than seven assists in his first three rookie season games.
-The Portland Trail Blazers point guard drilled his 167th three-pointer of the season against the Utah Jazz, breaking Stephen Curry's record of 166 set with the Golden State Warriors, setting the rookie record for most 3s in a season.
-Damian Lillard became the 2nd player in Trail Blazers franchise history to score 1500 points and dish 500 assist in a single season. He joins Drexler who did it twice(86-87, 91-92). Dames is also the 3rd rookie EVER to reach those numbers in a season and the first since Allen Iverson in 96-97 with the 76ers. Both of the previous players went on to win ROY!
-Damian Lillard has tied Damon Stoudamire for the Blazers record for most 3-pointers in a season(181). Lillard did it with 491 attempts while Stoudamire did it in 490!
All I can say is....WHOA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
