Rumor: Would Blazers Have Interest In Sixers C Andrew Bynum?

Howard Smith-USA TODAY Sports

Would the Portland Trail Blazers pursue Philadelphia 76ers center Andrew Bynum in free agency?

Every once in awhile I just need to make sure you guys are still awake.

Alex Kennedy of HoopsWorld.com writes on Twitter that he believes the Portland Trail Blazers might have interest in pursuing Philadelphia 76ers center Andrew Bynum -- who was lost for the 2012-13 season due to two knee surgeries -- when he becomes an unrestricted free agent this summer.

Even though he was hurt all season, Andrew Bynum will receive interest this summer. I bet Atlanta, Dallas, Houston and Portland pursues him.

That prompted Matt Moore of CBSSports.com to have some fun with it on Twitter...

I'm trying to imagine what I would say in a presser if I were in Portland and they signed Bynum. "No, seriously, this is a joke, rght?"

"I mean, this is some sort of performance art piece, yes? This is like Joaquin Phoenix's thing, only instead of a hobo, you sign Bynum?"

"Did you guys all get drunk and this would be funny? Because it's not. It's just mean, to everyone, really."

I can't tell you how many times per week people tell me about all the funny things they read in the comments here. Only half of those times are from my mother, who skips whatever I write and gets straight to your reactions.

Anyway, this seems like good fodder for all you jokesters. Please don't hold anything back (also, please obey site rules).
