Kevin Pelton of ESPN.com included Portland Trail Blazers forward/center on his list of the top available free agents in 2013. Hickson was ranked No. 5 at the power forward position behind Josh Smith (Atlanta Hawks), Paul Millsap (Utah Jazz), David West (Indiana Pacers) and Carl Landry (Golden State Warriors).
5. J.J. Hickson, Portland Trail Blazers: 11.1 WARP
Because he's such a poor help defender, Hickson is better suited to come off the bench than to start and play 29 minutes a night as he has this season. Still, plenty of teams could use a nightly double-double threat and elite finisher.
