Do we really want to trade for Asik?

So we are 17-3 best start since what? The 19-2 start we had the year we went 63-19 during the Drexler era right? My point being if it ain't broke don't fix it. Now i fully understand what Asik brings to the table, pretty much an elite version of Robin Lopez with maybe slightly worse scoring ability. However, I'm not sure you do anything to tamper with this teams chemistry. 17-3 is no joke, that's legit.

Playing devils advocate, do we even have the pieces to acquire him with out giving up to much. I'm not sure we do. Hey, ya think they would take back Thomas Robinson straight up? Because that's really the only way you don't throw off the chemistry significantly. Some sort of deal like that, i don't think we are getting another sweet heart deal like we did with Robinson again, could be wrong but i don't see it.

Anyways, i see why a lot of people think we should make a play for him and if we were say just over .500 and it was felt he was needed to push us over the hump to a very good team then yes pull the trigger but being elite already means you don't have to have such a sense of urgency to broker a deal. Houston wont want to deal with a team coming from a position of power such as that, they want someone who will have that sense of urgency we do not have currently.

In closing, i think he would be a great get for the right deal. The chances of that deal being offered is probably the same chances i have of winning the lottery so i wont hold my breath but i was curious what you all here at BE think. Agree disagree? I feel its a good discussion to have, let er rip!
