I think we now have a better idea of which assets we want to trade (i.e. not Meyers), and which we want to hold on to. We all liked Robinson's potential when he arrived, but with this team in win-now mode, playoff tested veterans are what this team needs more of. Here's my suggestion:
There would need to be some cash and/or some picks thrown around here too. I'm sure you all will pick it apart, but Chicago must know they're not winning anything this year, and may not want to pay tax for a team that isn't in the mix for a deep playoff run. This move would save them $6 million off their bottom line. Phoenix is under the cap, and may help facilitate if we can find an extra pick somewhere. This move provides some extra veteran help, and still leaves enough cap flexibility for the summer to use the mid-level exception without going into the luxury tax.
So what do you think? How would you improve the team for a deep playoff run?
