The Blazers struggled against the Rockets the last time we met. One of our 4 losses. Joel was out with a hip injury. He's been instrumental in winning games coming off the bench. If you would have said to me last year that the difference between a win or a loss would depend on Joel being healthy, I would have thought you were crazy. But here we are, going for our 19th win, against a team that beat us only due to the fact that Joel was injured and we didn't have a reliable backup center (IMO). If Joel has a solid game tonight and helps the Blazers to a win are you ready to to admit he has come far enough in his development to be considered a true backup center in this league? Myself I believe he has. The difference between this year and last is night and day. Having him come off the bench and provide the defense in the paint and the help on the offensive end of the floor has made a big difference and I don't think we would be where we are right now if it wasn't for his play. I'm really looking forward to this game tonight. I would like to here your thoughts on this topic. I have a thick skin so don't hesitate to let me have it if you think I'm off my rocker.
