I know last night was his first real game, and he had to go against two great rebounding centers last night. But my lord, what has he done in the off-season? He still doesn't block out, he can't control his body, and he plays scared. I don't want to say we whiffed on Meyer's yet, but he needs to start showing improvement. Last year, I could understand him having struggles. But I see virtually no improvement of Meyers last season compared to this season. Is it to early for trade rumors to start mumbling around him?
I feel like he might be one of those players that the sooner we can move him, the greater value we can get. Keeping him around longer could only deteriorate his trade value. I hate to be a negative nancy, I just want to see some defense out of the kid. How can it be so hard to stand with your arms straight up, and finding your man when the ball is in the air to box them out? Not to keep pouring it on him, but can he please gain 20-30 lbs? He looks so scrawny out there compared to other starting centers. I guess I just feel a little fed up with Meyers, but mostly disappointed. I guess that's what happens when you have sky high expectations from a 7'1 center.
