I hate that my first fan post has to be about a non-basketball topic, but after hitting a few games this year, I am underwhelmed by the concession stand service. Long lines are part of the deal, but I would really like to see the folks behind the counter acting like they understand how much we pay for tickets and how much of the game we are missing while they chat and slowly go about their business. I missed the better part of the third quarter of the opener while in a line of four people, while watching the BIg Bang Theory on the TVs instead of the game feed. I was less than thrilled.
Look, I used to work in food service and retail. It isn't fun, it isn't glamorous and it is thankless, low-paying work. But I work hard, too, and when I spend a lot of money for decent seats to a game, I kind of want to enjoy those seats as much as possible. I don't expect heroics, but a sense of urgency and a little hustle goes a long way on the court and behind the counter.
