Before Oden gets back in the mix, 5v5, and before regret and jealousy cloud the sentiment, thought it worth going on record giving Oden the slow clap standing ovation he deserves for keeping at it. I wish he'd ended up sitting next to Pat Stacks on the deep end of the Spurs bench but regardless of the team he deserves credit for working his way back to the edge of the NBA.
And I'm celebrating that right now. Before he starts playing 3 mins a game and becomes a feel good story for every band wagon fan of NBA, while Blazers fans watch and dream of what could have been. But seriously wish Oden the best of luck. My grandfather always told me getting old was no fun and Oden seems like he was born old. I don't envy him having bad knees and wish him the best as he works his way back to the bench. Gotta admit reading this article on ESPN makes me happy for him. A lot of uncelebrated hard work goes into everyone playing deep on rosters, Oden gets more love then most, but the kids been through a lot and I'm glad to see him get another chance.
