Had to pick my wife up after she got hit from behind by an 18 wheeler. Good thing there were no kids in back and it was only going 15 mph. She has some back pain, but is otherwise fine. Our car is totaled and we only have liabilality insurance. When the cops came literally 30 seconds later, they said that since no one was hurt they don't do police reports anymore. As they were on a call when this happened, they called a tow truck and left. They guy had Montana plates and rental insurance information. After he and my wife exchanged information the guy drove away.

I'm seriously hoping the the insurance info and license info this guy gave my wife is legit. I also hope the map of the streets and impact to the vehicle will help the insurance adjusters determine it's his fault in case he decides to be deceitful.

Going to talk to American Family tomorrow, but any advice would be helpful.
