Williams: Blazers Earn More Kudos For Sustainability

Christina Williams of SustainableBusinessOregon.com writes that the Portland Trail Blazers have earned some serious kudos in a recent sustainability study. ------------------------------- A Natural Resources Defense Council report making the case that the sports industry is saving the environment highlights the efforts made by the Portland Trail Blazers and the management of their home at the Rose Garden Arena to enmesh sustainability throughout the organization. ... The report, "Game Changer," was released Wednesday, the first day of the Portland-based Green Sports Alliance's Green Sports Summit, held this year in Seattle. ... "Being in what is recognized as one of the most sustainable cities on the planet, the Portland Trail Blazers are proud to play a role in Portland’s environmental leadership," said Justin Zeulner, director of sustainability and planning for the team, in a press release. "Ideally, we are playing a role to best represent the core values of our city and surrounding communities." ------------------------------- Hat tip: @AndyGiegerich -- Ben Golliver | benjamin.golliver@gmail.com | Twitter
