I wrote how we should sign Eric Gordon, Goran Dragic, and draft Harrison Barnes plus Andre Drummond a few months back. After watching summer league all I can say is thank god I don't run the front office. With that said I'm happy with the way the draft and free agency(to a lesser extent) went, and here's what I think of the new up and comers.
1. Damian Lillard.
This dude could be real special. Best case scenario he's a superstar in the vein of drose/westrbrook, worst case scenario I see a george hill or mediocre starter type. We got value at the 6 pick, he's just not going to be a bust unless the injury bug strikes again (knock on wood).
2. Meyers Leonard.
Not really sure what to expect of this guy but if his work ethic is any indication he'll be AT LEAST a solid starter or super sub. At best we might see a Tyson Chandler lite, or hoping against hope a healthy Bogut type with mobility. This guy has potential to be a cornerstone but he's at least 3 years out from realizing it.
3. Will Barton
Somewhere between Rip Hamilton and that guy that flopped on you at 24/hour fitness when you went into a post position. This guy is a wild card in every sense of the word. I just don't know what to expect.
5. Joel Freeland/JJ Hickson
One of these guys is going to be a blazer for a long time and for good reason. Excited to watch them duke it out.
6. Luke Babbit
Not a religious dude but i'll be praying for him... Could be that ace up the sleeve we need for a deep playoff run years from now...
