NBA Purgatory Trivia!

The month of August is NBA purgatory. In order to feed my famished mind, I decided to put together a little list of ten NBA trivia questions for you Blazermaniacs to ponder. Some of them are relatively easy. Others have a bonus element to them. No cheating! It's more fun to post your guesses. Also, if you DO go look up the answers to these questions, please don't post them here. It's a lot more fun to see who can actually answer them without research. I'll post the correct responses in about a week or so. Without further ado!!

1. Lots of NBA fans can rattle off the highest scoring player of all time to have never won an NBA championship. (Karl Malone) Now tell me who the highest scoring GUARD that never won an NBA championship was. Guard meaning the player's natural position.

2. Only four players in NBA history have retired with a total of 3,000 blocks or greater. Name three of them.

3. Name three of the top five players on the NBA's all time triple double list.

4. In the last ten years of NBA Drafts ('02 on..), only TWO second round selections have gone on to make an All Star team. Name them.

5. Only four players in NBA history have taken the court at 5'7" or shorter. Name at least three of them. If you can name ALL four without looking them up I'd be real impressed. He played in the 40s and was cut by the Knicks after playing only THREE games. This fourth guy was also the first minority player EVER taken in an NBA draft.

6. Which retired NBA player holds the record for most career free throws made?

7. During the 1995 All Star weekend, the Miami Heat had two players win both the Slam Dunk Contest and the Three Point Shootout respectively. They were the first team ever to make that claim. Who were the two players?

8. Name the only player in NBA history to win a Finals MVP award even though his team lost the championship.

9. In what season did the NBA first introduce the three point line, an idea it borrowed from the ABA?

10. Which retired player holds the record for most total turnovers in NBA playoff games?
