David Aldridge of NBA.com reports that the Dallas Mavericks were interested in hiring Portland Trail Blazers assistant coach Kaleb Canales to replace Terry Stotts, who left his position as a Dallas assistant to take the head coaching job with the Blazers. ----------------------------------------- Terry Stotts, the Blazers' new coach, thought so much of the Blazers' old head coach, Kaleb Canales, that he insisted Canales remain on staff. Which disappointed Dallas, who had hoped to hire Canales to replace Stotts, the Mavericks' now-former assistant coach.
