All hope rests with Lillard

Stay connected for news and updates

The Blazers are trying to go all in with Hibbert and are determined to match any offer made for Batum, but regardless of how these moves are made the Blazers are currently standing still at the Point Guard position. The Blazers have said that Lillard will be the starter day 1, putting all their eggs in one basket. While Lillard is projected to be an above average starter, there is no way of knowing until the time comes.

The unfortunate problem is that if Lillard cannot adjust to the NBA, there is no one capable to "right the ship". Nolan Smith is a competent backup and nothing more. Even if the Blazers are able to retain Batum and sign Hibbert, Lillard will still be the one with the ball in his hands the majority of the time. Without Hibbert and Batum, Lillard will need to adapt even faster, and become a go-to scorer. The fans witnessed just how a poor point guard can make a team. Is Lillard capable of being a good, if not great Point Guard? He has the tools to be. He is in the right situation and has the full support of the organization. The Blazers are handing the keys to Lillard, let's just hope he is up to the task.

The fans wish you the best Lillard, you are going to need it.
