Sports. ------------------------------------------ Hawes had been loosely linked in rumors this week to the Portland Trail Blazers, as a possible back-up plan in case the Indiana Pacers decided to match Portland's 4-year, $58 million maximum offer sheet agreement with restricted free agent center Roy Hibbert.
