For a quick recap on this series ... We're new to town, wanting to get to know all that Portland has to offer, looking for some suggestions. Last week we talked about the best breakfast spots around and I'm pumped to try out some of the local favorites! Hopefully we'll get to lots of topics in this series, but one poster in particular in the last thread got me all excited about his/her "metric poopton of knowledge" about burgers, so let's go there next. I'm particularly excited about this option because cheeseburgers are one thing my 3 year old actually likes to eat.
I'll get it started and say that one day while I was out exploring downtown I stumbled upon a yummy little burger joint in Director's Park called Violetta, kind of a gourmet fastfood joint. I was starving and just looking for protein, and boy did I find it. The mushroom and swiss option with truffle oil fries was just what I needed. I don't know if this place was good or bad within the context of greater Portland, but it sure hit the spot that day.
Chime in with your favorite spot below. Hidden gems off the beaten path and natural ingredients are of particular interest. Thanks, and have fun! Looking forward to the responses.
