British journalist Ian Whittell reports on Twitter that Portland Trail Blazers big man Joel Freeland, who is currently playing on the Great Britain National Team in advance of the 2012 London Olympics, will return to England to undergo testing on his knee. ------------------------------- Joel Freeland has returned to London for tests on knee. Great Britain being ultra cautious, hopefully won't have any effect on Olympics, but not ideal. Portlandia, chill! Freeland visiting specialist purely a precaution, Great Britain being overly cautious out of respect to Blazers. Don't expect it to be anything to worry about. It's worse news for Great Britain though because he just missed a week of preparations while he was back in Portland. Joel simply tweaked his knee in shootaround so almost certainly no drama there. ------------------------------- More details as they emerge. Great Britain is currently in Belgium as they continue their pre-Olympics tour with exhibitions against Tunisia and Belgium this weekend. Freeland, 25, played for Great Britain against the United States in an exhibition on Tuesday. He finished with 6 points and 3 rebounds on 3-for-7 shooting in 22 minutes. The Blazers officially signed Freeland, a 2006 first-round pick, to a 3-year contract earlier this month. -- Ben Golliver | benjamin.golliver@gmail.com | Twitter
