Thought I'd take a break from all the free agent talk for a change. If you remember, I posted some months back that we were hoping to move to Portland and needed some advice on job searches and areas to live. Well, the job front turned out great as I was hired on as a youth and family therapist, and my wife was hired on as a new teacher.
We live in Lake Oswego currently and are loving it, but it's a little sheltered from the rest of the city and we want to get to know all the good things Portland has to offer. For instance, we ate at a delicious little spot called the Jade Teahouse and Patisserie in Sellwood. We wouldn't have found it if we hadn't decided to dink around in that area for the day. I want to know about more places like this, and that's where you all come in. This fanpost is the first in a new series called Portlandia, in which I want to learn where the best of everything is in Portland: breakfast, sushi, Thai food, family fun, coffee, dessert, bagels, hiking trails, fishing, pizza, ice cream, etc ...
So this first episode is about perhaps one of my favorite things: Breakfast! I love breakfast of all kinds, flapjacks, waffles, benedicts, scrambles, burritos, sausage, crepes, and so on. I could eat breakfast for any meal of the day, and oftentimes do! Chime in below with your favorite spot. Hidden gems off the beaten path and natural ingredients are of particular interest. Thanks, and have fun! Looking forward to the responses.
