Personally I really like Leonard. but i think hes just another Omer Asik, Greg Stiemsa, or Robin Lopez. Good solid backup Centers who all bring a certain touch..but none are legit starting centers. As a result,
1) Al Jefferson. Last year of contract @ $15M. He's not the best defender..but hes a consistent 20/10 guy who can block shots. We need another guy who is a consistent scorer. We are already a good defensive team Jefferson wont hurt that much.
2) A.I....$14.7M with a $15.9M player option next season....If we can get Iggy for Wesley and some picks/euro players and Iggy would sign a long term contract. I love Wesley. He's a character guy and a competitor. There aren't many SG I'd trade him for (especially with his friendly contract). Him and Nic together would be a scary defensive duo.
3) Jose Calderon. Final year of contract @ $10.5M.........30 year old vet PG. Put him and Lilard in a time share. Then at the trade deadline flip him for more. I'd treat them just like the Cavs did with Irving/Sessions last season. Irving was ready but they increased Sessions value significantly in that role.
4) Andray Blatch. He's got an attitude. He's kind of a punk. But he's going to be cheap and he's proven he can be a 20/10 guy. His problem is he wants to start. So let him start here. Give him 20-25mins a game as the starter and he'd be happy. We would have JJ/Blatch/Freeland/LA/Leonard.....Let Leonard ride the pine for his first year. Build up the value of Blatch and JJ...then flip at least one of them at the deadline. They are both WAY undervalued and we could really cash in.
