Let the first player on each team to block a shot, by the existing rules,

become a designated shot blocker, then free from all goal-tending rules, until he

goes to the bench. Then the next player to block by a shot by existing rules,

again becomes the teams designated 'goal tender'.

I think this would restore some excitement to the game, reduce the number of

disputable calls, encourage defense, and allow for extra coaching strategies to be implemented.
