Batum to Minnesota & Blazers Trade Assets for Paul Milsap???

Why did the Blazers offer Paul Milsap a huge contact 2 years ago??? Was it because a budding Nic Batum was the next great SF or because we all knew that LaMarcus Aldridge wasn't going to work out as the long term PF? No Paul Milsap was signed to a huge offer from the Blazers because they wanted a tough SF to go along side of LaMarcus. Utah matched the offer and the Blazers got a strong SF later on by acquiring Gerald Wallace. Everybody knows that Batum was never projected to even be a back up to LaMarcus Aldridge.

Why did the Blazers get Gerald Wallace last season. . . was it to be Nic Batum's backup? That answer is no. It would not surprise me to see the Blazers let Batum go and then make a play for Milsap using some of the assets acquired from the Raymond Felton trade etc. Wasn't Milsap reported to be on the trading block before the draft?

Nic Batum is a great SF to play along side of a non shot blocking tremendous rebounding PF like Kevin Love. But a SF like Milsap is a great player to play along side of LaMarcus Aldridge.
