With the pieces we have now
And I don't know if this has been talked about yet, but taking into account the coaches it's been said we're interviewing as well as our current roster (regardless of the coming fallout from the great Batum Boom) I've been playfully rolling this around in the ol' noggin so let's get right to it :
Having now "officially" signed Hickson, Lillard and Leonard and with Freeland and Claver on their way across the proverbial pond, we've added a LOT of young, very athletic flexible talent to our roster to accompany LMA and Wes, E-Will, Smith and Babbit etc.
Anyone else willing to play with the notion of seeing a Flex/Triangle brought back?
I am not sure about all the talk of Lamarcus playing the 5. Yes he's capable, but it's not his game. Over a season at the 5 banging with the other bigs in the league will take it's toll. ON THE OTHER HAND : Let's imagine for a second LMA, Hickson, Freeland and Leonard rolling the 4 and 5. (don't forget Scola is available on the cheap now too!) Assuming we re-sign Batum at SF you can add him to expand even more switching on the 3 and 4. That's a HUGE VARIETY of switches in the front court to take advantage of at any given time! We then have D-Lill, Smith and (insert vet PG here if that happens) Wes, E-Will and Barton up front. Am I the only one that gets excited about the potential here?!
Come on now, we're talking about a YOUNG team yes, a LOT of conjecture and un proven players and an offense that's endangered at best.... But hey, that's all we have at this point right?
