JD 7/12/2012 Never old enough to start.

Argentinian Prigioni is set to become the oldest rookie in the NBA at 35. Ever. That reminds me that I started to play basketball at 39. I know there some things we can not do anymore, but we put more limits to our expectations than our age would actually justify.

Another problem with getting older is that we start to think too much about things we can not do anymore, making us unhappy people. When I started to play basketball a friend of mine, who was a very good player, was not having as much fun as I had, because he could not do some things he could do in the past. He was still so good and, of course, so much better than I was (in fact everyone was better than me), that I thought it was a pity he was not having so much fun anymore.

"Más sabe el diablo por viejo que por diablo".

It translates approximately to, "The devil knows more because he is old, than because he is the devil."

It is meant to underscore the significance of wisdom derived from age and life experience.

What are you doing in a country that does not belong to you, viejo?
