Ric Bucher of ESPN.com reports that the Portland Trail Blazers could receive multiple first-round picks plus an unknown player in exchange for agreeing to sign-and-trade restricted free agent forward Nicolas Batum to the Minnesota Timberwolves. ------------------------------ The Trail Blazers and Timberwolves are discussing a deal that would bring Portland free-agent forward Nicolas Batum to Minnesota in exchange for two future first-round draft picks and a veteran small forward acquired from a third team, a league source told ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher. The Timberwolves will sign Batum to an offer sheet if the deal can't be completed by Wednesday night, the source said. ------------------------------ Earlier Wednesday, Blazers GM Olshey told reporters in Portland the Blazers planned to retain Batum and match any offer sheets made to him. It was previously reported the Timberwolves would be willing to offer a pick and expiring contracts for Batum in a sign-and-trade. -- Ben Golliver | benjamin.golliver@gmail.com | Twitter
