Has there ever been a team that was more ignorant of self than the 2012-2013 Portland Trail Blazers? An expansion team has a better gauge of its talent. We simply dont know our players. We dont even know our former players. Oden and Roy could return healthy enough to death nail our training staff only to be saved by Babbitt and Barton's improved physiques. Why not? When it comes to basketball im pretty opinionated, Im usually right and I dont know this team at all. My guess is that Lillard will be Steff Curryish. Williams if healthy will be one of the most exiting players in the league but until he dunks on someone he will lack confidence. Once he gets the confidence I dont know how good he can be. Will Aldridge take the next step? Can he come close to the Malone, Nowitzki realm. Doubt it but wouldn't be surprised. Batum was just matched. Can he reach that next level? What will he do when he isnt in the corner? Dont ask me to compare Barton to anyone. He has the production of a lotto pick and the body of a pixie stick. As Magic Johnson predicted Rubio was better in the NBA than he was in Europe. Will this hold for Freeland and Claver? If it doesnt who will drop off more and how much. Dont know. Can a heavier Babbitt earn the backup PF spot? I could see it. He is 6'9 and he doesn't back down on the boards. Is Diebler an NBA player? Looked mighty efficient in Greece. A pure shooter if there ever was. How good is Leonard? He is young skilled, strong, 7'1 and an athlete yet our expectations seem low. Can Nolan Smith rebound from a harsh rookie season? Can Matthews add some creation to his game? This season must answer questions or the team will never come close to winning 1000 straight.
