Think about the rookies we drafted and give this a thought here.. Damian Lillard, a 6'3" point guard with great range, a great solution for the pick and roll. Not a natural playmaker, but he can be a good floor general at setting the pace. He reminds me of Chauncey Billups in his prime in a lot of ways and that might just be his ceiling for now.
Meyers Leonard has mentioned he seems himself as playing a "Tysor Chandler" role, and the resemblances is there.. 7'1", athletic, potent on offense and could be key for defense. If thats his ceiling I dont think there are a lot who will complain. That seems to be the type of role Ben Wallace filled.
Will Barton.. a thin SG who can be explosive on offense, and rebounds great for a guard. If he develops a shot from the arc, I see similarities to Richard Hamilton.
And finally, Nic Batum is very similar to Tayshaun Prince in their size and talents for now. The problem is we might lose Batum, but I think Prince's role was the least important in that lineup. Any SF that can play D and hit their open shots would suffice here.
Do you see the resemblance ? No ?
