A New Coach? Please?!(POLL)

Are we getting a new coach? Maybe not. A couple of things I read today on Hoopshype via the Oregonian and Jason Quick, were talking about some things Mr Olshey said in his conference regarding Canales and the head coaching position. He implicitly stated that Canales was the lead man in the head coach search and quote:

"my guy" and the "in-house favorite."

"I don't see anyone bringing more to the table than Kaleb Canales."

Now maybe hes just saying the right things and he doesnt want to rock the boat. Or maybe Canales is sticking around. I love Canales and was excited for him to get the chance to coach, but really, if there is someone out there with alot more experince, we should be looking at them.

And there are coaches out there without jobs who we should be looking at:

Jerry Sloan

Mike Dantoni

Brian Shaw

Michael Malone

Jeff Van Gundy

And the list goes on and on.

Now im all for putting Canales back into a assistant coaching role and keeping him around. Dont fire him or let him go, but keep teaching him. But if a HOF coach like say Jerry Sloan is interested, you cannot pass up an opportunity like that. Even Michael Malone would be an excellent pickup. #1 assistant coach in the NBA, has playoffs and finals experience and hes apparently interested in us! Shaw would be great--heck any of the names I listed would be great.

Monty Williams quote:

"The Blazers are making a mistake if they dont consider Malone."

So what do you think, should we keep Kaleb Canales as our head coach or should we be looking for someone else to coach this team?
