"We need winners. People who are tough. People who don't like losing. Players who, if they lose a shooting drill, they lose their minds. Guys that play with a lot of heart and are unselfish. Guys that will sacrifice personal stuff for the team." -Wesley Matthews
Here is my attempt at getting Wesley what he wants.
2012 Draft:
#6-Damian Lillard
#11-Meyers Leonard
Nicolas Batum, Nolan Smith, Jon Diebler and Kurt Thomas to Philly for Andre Iguadola and #15
#15 (Marquis Teague) and #41 traded to Indiana Pacers for #26 (Will Barton) and Darren Collison.
#40 Drew Gordon (or Mike Scott)
2012 Free Agency:
Re-sign Hickson and Przybilla. Bring Freeland and Claver over. Sign Royal Ivey as third stringer (cause he is a big defender, and so he can share the dirt on OKC).
2012 Opening Day Lineup:
Collison/Lillard/Ivey
Matthews/E.Will/Barton
Iguadola/Babbitt/Claver
Aldridge/Hickson/Gordon
Przybilla/Freeland/Leonard
Obvious weaknesses there are starting SG and Center. But, I guarantee that team will at least compete, and with good coaching may squeak into the playoffs. I think each one of those draft picks takes over the starting gig by the 2013 season. At the very least they show enough promise to allow us to make a run at either Ibaka or Harden, whomever OKC decides they have to part with.
Potential 2013 Lineup:
Lillard/Collison
Barton/E.Will
Iguadola/Babbitt
Aldridge/Gordon
Ibaka/Freeland
