Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports on Twitter that the Portland Trail Blazers will make an offer to Chicago Bulls restricted free agent center Omer Asik. ------------------------------- After Houston tonight, Blazers GM Neil Olshey will meet with Chicago center Omer Asik and make him an offer, sources tell Y! Sports. To clarify, a Portland contingent is meeting with Omer Asik tonight, but Olshey was meeting with a different player, source tells Y! Sports. ------------------------------- Peter Vecsey of the New York Post responded to the news on Twitter... ------------------------------- Paul Allen should keep Neil Olshey as far away from restricted free agent centers (think DeAndre Jordan) as possible. ------------------------------- Olshey's Clippers matched a 4-year, $43 million offer made to Jordan by the Golden State Warriors back in December. K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune reports that Asik could command an $8 million per year offer from the Houston Rockets, who are meeting with Asik early Sunday morning. Rockets GM Daryl Morey encouraged his team's fans to send messages to Asik on Twitter. Asik, 25, averaged 3.1 points and 5.3 rebounds in 14.7 minutes per game for the Bulls last season. The Blazers drafted Asik in the second round of the 2008 NBA Draft before trading him to the Bulls.
