Will Barton was drafted in the mid-second, Jeremy Lamb went #13 in the lottery. On paper, these guys look very similar, though. Can anyone help me understand the big gap in expectations?
Both are very skinny, lanky sophomore SGs - they are basically the same size (Barton is a little taller, Lamb is only 3 lbs heavier and one inch wider wingspan - 6'11 vs. 6'9.75"). Lamb is 20, Barton is 21. Barton had better numbers than Lamb across the board - higher FG%, 3PT%, PPG, and WAY better rebounding numbers - 8rpg vs. 5. Barton plays with a higher motor, finishes around the rim more, and gets to the line more.
The major knock on Barton seems to be his skinniness, but Lamb basically has the exact same build. What makes Lamb so much better?
