I'm sure there will be many differing opinions on this subject, but I believe history will tell the story.
The guy is simply the most aggressive and skilled scorer in the Draft class.
He can handle at an elite level, he can shoot at an elite level, he can drive at an elite level and he's a gamer.
So he is a ball hog?
Well, when you play against a bunch of people that will likely be working in an office after college its hard to resist scoring on them. College players are terrible and when placed along side talented vets like Aldridge or Batum I don't worry about his ability to share. To be that great at driving you have to have vision. I think he will be a great play maker at the next level.
He's a chucker like Crawford?
Yeah except he gets to the rim and finishes. If Crawford did that he would be a career all-star. Crawford dances for bad shots, Rivers dances for layups.
He is too thin to be effective?
Talk to Durant about that. When you have that speed and handle, strength is not as much of an issue
Bottom line: If you want to shoot for the stars you have to draft the one guy who can be a star.... thats Rivers!
